This product pack allows us to identify as to which certificates in the local machine's certificate store are going to expire within a certain duration and replace certificates with an updated copy

Scenario

This product pack is an example of a customer-produced pack, in this case for our fictional Acme company.

Acme have identified some expiring company root certificates and wish to refresh them. They have created a specific product pack to handle this.

Known Issues / Additional Notes

This product pack is obviously not directly useful; it is intended to be customised to suit a particular organisation's certificate requirements Due to a current Tachyon issue, the certificate question, which overlaps with existing core product certificate functionality, was specially written to work around a known issue with Tachyon whereby filtering on certificate dates appears not to work correctly. As a consequence, queries which include certificate expiry dates can cause the agent to 'filter out' subsequent actions, because the agent miscompares the date due to a UTC/local time comparison issue. The certificate replacement process is somewhat simplistic; a certificate is included as a product pack resource. In many environments, there will be a certification authority (CA) and an enrollment process. A more general solution would include support for client enrolment; this is probably doable via PowerShell, which has pretty good certificate handling capabilities.
